Action for Children Trustees Visit to Headlands


On Thursday 15th November 2018 the Action for Children Trustees visited Headlands School for the first time as a group. 

The service visit formed part of the Trustees annual meeting and staff and pupils were given the opportunity to showcase the school, residential houses and the various enterprise schemes we have.


Matthew Burns, Maxine Cahill and Joseph Osbaldeston welcomed the Trustees and refreshments were taken in the café and met with Headlands ex-pupils, George, Toni and Tom.The group visited our Key Stage 2 provision where both teachers and pupils welcomed their visitors with examples of their work.



They then moved onto the social enterprise, Spokes where they met with our young people and chatted about the work and qualifications undertaken in this area.

Design and Technology was visited next and  Trustees met with our young carpenters and saw examples of their wonderful creations. 


The Trustees also visited the music room and learnt about the development of the new radio station which is funded by money awarded following the success at Dragon’s Den.



The Trustees then visited 2 of our residential homes, Gelert West and the new property Uppercliff House.  Finally the Trustees were treated to a show from the Drama, Dance and Music Department who’s young people performed in various mediums of poetry, dance, drama, music along the theme of Anti-Bullying.



The visit was very successful and the staff and pupils welcome the Trustees to visit us again in the future.
