Poppies made by pupils of Headlands School

Headlands School is 100 years old this year and to commemorate the centenary, staff and pupils are holding 100 memorable events across the academic year.  As part of this celebration the old building has had life breathed into it with a display of historical photographs.  Photographs from left to right are A New Entrant, Helm and Compass Instruction, Cookery Class, Major John Angel Gibbs DSO (benefactor), Mrs JA Gibbs, Signal Exercise, Ready for Service at Sea.

The pupils and staff have also been working on a temporary exhibition of 100 personally designed and handmade poppies to commemorate 100 years of the end of the first world war, which have been draped over the entrance of the old building.  The transformation is beautiful
