The UNICEF UK Rights Respecting Schools Award (RRSA) is based on principles of equality, dignity, respect, non-discrimination and participation.
RSSA becomes part of the schools culture to improve wellbeing and develop every child’s talents and abilities to their full potential. A rights respecting school is a community where children’s rights are learned, taught, practiced, respected, protected and promoted.
Young people and the school community learn about children’s rights by putting them into practice every day, and models rights and respect in all it’s relationships, whether between adults and pupils, between pupils or between adults.
Headlands School is currently working on the first phase of this award and are hoping to receive our Recognition of Commitment by Christmas 2015.
