Two members of the teaching staff, Joe Lucas and Claire Houghton were asked to do a lecture on SEMHD (Social Emotional Mental Health Difficulties) in the University of South Wales, Newport for the MA SEN year one group on Monday 13th November 2017.
Joe and Claire spoke about the history behind SEMHD and discussed attachment theory in depth. Joe and Claire explained how the school uses DDP and TCI to work with pupils with social and emotional difficulties.
The students were fascinated with the work we do at Headlands which provoked a very interesting Q & A at the end of the session.
Both staff have recently completed their Masters Degrees at the University of South Wales, Newport in CAMHS.
