The Road to the Principality!

Post 16 student Callum Hodges has been training hard and playing well for the Dragons All-stars, the mixed-ability rugby team based at Cwmbran RFC and on Monday 29th April he made his Principality Stadium debut. He ran out with his team mates wearing the number 11 and settled into his role as a winger.

He tracked back consistently, effectively followed the play and got stuck in when required, with a fantastic 10 metre run straight into contact! Go on Cal!

The game opened, and the All-Stars captain went in under the sticks. Callum’s big moment was here, a conversion at the hallowed turf that only 1 month ago was the backdrop for Wales’ Grand Slam success.

Callum placed his headgear down, checked the wind direction and stepped forward to slot the conversion. Callum continued to play well and had an opportunity to kick another conversion and he scored that one as well!

I have no doubt that Callum will be beaming this week wearing his favourite Dragons Gilet and Snapback and rightly so!

Really well-done Callum from everybody at School!

You are a credit to Headlands and continue to represent the school and the Dragons brilliantly! Keep up the hard work Cal!
