How DDP has impacted our Practice

For many of the young people we work with, their early life has been characterised by loss, upheaval and pain. These experiences have shaped the way in which they interact, often living in a permanent state of hyper vigilance, mistrust and shame. DDP is an approach which guides adults to support children to begin to understand their internal world, making sense of their feelings and the impact of their early life experiences. It is through these connected and nurturing relationships that young people over time are able to begin to calm their autonomic nervous system, heal past traumas and build trusting and caring relationships. Take a look at a short video summary from a few members of staff outlining in their own words the impact DDP has had on their practice.
