Sport and fitness

At Headlands, we provide a huge variety of sport and fitness activities for young people to learn and experience. These take place on site, in the school grounds, in the local community, and further afield. We are passionate about encouraging an active lifestyle among our students because this brings both physical and mental health benefits.

On site, we have a start-of-the-art G4 pitch, used for football and rugby. There is a multigym on site which can be used for fitness and strength training. We also provide karate lessons and training, led by one of our support staff who himself has earned a black belt in the sport.

Outside of the school grounds, yet still within the local area, we take young people on bike rides, fishing trips and white-water rafting experiences. These give students the chance to experience a new environment, while being active, healthy and focused.

For those who up for a challenge and wish to travel further afield, there is an annual snowboarding trip. This is an exciting adventure – for both students and staff!
