Salary: £21,300 per annum, £18,188 pro rata

Headlands School is a residential special school based in Penarth, which caters for pupils between the ages of 7 and 19, who have an emotional, social and behavioural difficulties and a range of associated needs. As a Teaching Assistant, you will also supervise lunches, some breaks and accompany pupils on school trips and activities.
You’ll be working 39 weeks per year on a term time only basis.

By supporting the teacher in the classroom to deliver lessons
By meeting pupils as they come into school each day
By helping with setting up the classroom
By building relationships with pupils and their families to support their learning
By assisting teachers with planning lessons and assessing pupils
By supervising at lunchtimes
By accompanying pupils on school trips and activities
What will you need?
· To be empathetic, tolerant and have a positive attitude
· Experience of working with children and young people with additional needs
· GCSE grade 4 or above in English and Maths or the equivalent
· Good computer literacy
