Our aims and purpose

Our approach is relationally based and trauma-informed; we believe that offering every child a safe environment where they connect with attuned and sensitive adults is a crucial foundation for their development. Headlands is passionate about meeting the needs of young people who have been disadvantaged and is committed to facilitating the development of engaged and thriving citizens.

We want every member of our community to feel like they belong here and are valued. Our aim is to provide the environmental and social conditions necessary for our children to develop into teenagers and young adults who have had access to a wide variety of educational experiences within a nurturing setting. We want our students to be prepared to venture into life outside of school and ready to take the next steps towards further education, employment, and independent living.
